In the upcoming Stack’s Bowers and Ponterio The November 2015 Baltimore Auction (November 10, 2015), a nice Utrecht ducat will be available for bidding (Lot 42689). A copy offered for sale is incorrectly slabbed as the Utrecht 1616 gold ducat; in fact it is Utrecht 1646 ducat (more common date).

Utrecht ducats minted in 1646 are known in a large number of varieties, including a number of typing mistakes of a die-sinker. On the copy offered for sale MO OPDI instead of MO ORDI as well as BFLGA.AD/LEGFM instead of BELG.AD / LEGEM are minted on the reverse.

This is a nice condition specimen of this date, and thus it’s worth to bid this coin. Starting price is very low: $75 only.
